Humor Me

When I am
old and gray

Humor me

Make me laugh
Feel young again

Just humor me

A smile to ease
The pain

A way to chuckle
Off the strain

Remind these
Wrinkles on my face
That laughter
Brings a state of
Grace

A smile
Can break
The frozen ice

And humor brings
A soul to life

If the
Child in me
Should come
Up to breathe

Forget that I am
Old and gray

Don’t Chastise me
Or think it sad

Just play along
And make me glad

And humor me

The Earth

The earth in true beauty
is without the scars of wars
And the fumes of progress
It mends and cleanses
Rebels, in quakes
and erupting volcanos
Though we thoughtlessly
Abuse and take for granted
The miracle
That the earth is
God nonetheless
Gifts us with beauty each day
Beauty such as this is not
created by chance
Just as you and I
are not here by accident
The earth was created
For us to dwell in peace
And love
Just as
Our bodies
Are meant to be
The dwelling place of
Our creator
The prince of peace
Let us not be content
To live mindlessly
Without purpose
And responsibility
But instead
Dwell on the earth
Taking care
Wherever our footsteps take us
Let us embody
The love and peace
Of our creator

Many thanks to the men and women who serve our country, past and present.

I was never in the military, but I have the utmost respect to the people who serve and have served our country. In honor of them I want to share this story from the website REAL COMBAT LIFE. As a civilian who benefits from the sacrifice and selfless acts of our military I thank you and offer up prayers for those who’ve served and continue to serve our country.

SHY

“She’s shy,”
I heard this
Over and over,
Again,

Yes I was
Shy,
Growing up,
But I
Was not deaf,

I heard,
You
Talking about,
Me,

And I heard you
Talk about
Other people,

You thought me,
Weak

But I,
Held more,
Secrets
Than you’ll
Ever know,

I carried my
Burdens without,
Drama,

I lent a
Nonjudgmental
Ear
When needed,

I watched
Friends turn
against
Each other
Over Gossip,

I observed,
I learned,
I lived my
Life in
Private,

Yes I am
Shy,
But I’m
ok
With that

LaUgHtEr

It might
start
as a
Smile,
That turns
Into a
giggle,
It might,
Be from
A tickle,
You simply
Lose control,
And then,
It is
A Roaring,
You just,
Can’t
Keep it in,
You pass,
It on,
To others,
Contagious,
As it
Is!

SURRENDER

I gather,
My worries,
And all,
Of my woes,

As I build up,
A wall,
With pity,
And loathe,

From the outside,
It’s decorated,
So pretty,
and nice,

But inside,
A disaster,
Contaminated,
By long webs,
of lies,

Languishingly,
I despair,
Over what,
May never be,

Distraught,
and condemned,
By my own,
wicked me,

Yet,
My soul,
Is the wise one,
With courage,
And grace,

Who rescues,
My mind,
From this dark,
demented place,

Release,
those delusions,
Causing you,
Sorrow and pain,

Kick!
Through those
Barbarous walls,
Built with,
Agony and shame,

Open,
A path,
To serenity,
And
Breathe,
the air of
Tranquility,

Surrender all doubts,
And negative thoughts,

Surrender the guilt,
The curses,
And plots,

Surrender to silence,
Let peace be your guide,

Surrender to hope,
And love will arrive,

MY LONG LOST, SLEEP

Sleep,
Won’t you come,
to me now,
Like a long lost,
lover,

How I long
for your embrace,
A long night,
of sweet, sweet, slumber,

When I was,
young and foolish,
You did your best,
to please me,

But I wanted,
late nights,
And parties,
I clearly didn’t,
need thee,

I hope you’ll give me,
One more chance,
To tap my toes
To the,
Sandman dance,

For now,
I see the error of my ways,
In my dark,
puffy,
and wrinkled eyes,

My bodies tired and,
my muscles scream,
You need to rest!
You need to dream!

I do not know,
What I will do,
If you insist,
On being cruel,

I promise not,
To stay out late,
Or put you off,
And make you wait,

In fact,
I’ll turn the tv off,
And play,
Your favorite lullaby song,

Just come back to me,
I’m begging please,

Come back to me,
My long lost sleep,

Cactus Bloom

Even a cactus full of thorns, growing wild in the desert, with no person to care for it blooms with beauty,
And yet we allow our own self doubts to prevent our own personal growth, hindering our ability to bloom.
